Fitflops Arrive in Time for Mother's Day!

We were surprised and delighted to receive a shipment of Fitflop sandals yesterday. We have a nice selection of the 2011 Fitflops just in time for Mother's Day. If you love your fitflops, stop in and pick up a pair. We have a hunch they are going to go out of our doors very quickly.

Spotlight on Fidelio Sandals
By Celia Tellez

If you are looking for a stylish sandal with good arch support, luxurious soft leather uppers and nice styling at affordable prices, then Fidelio sandals are for you.

The Fidelio sandals, imported from Austria provide excellent arch support that can be customized or "tweaked" to match your unique support requirements. The materials, patterns and finishing of the shoes are comparable to many Euro comfort brands retailing well into the middle $200s. Fidelio sandals not only provide great comfort, but they are the ultimate shoe for women with bunions. A soft, padded stretchable leather bunion compartment eliminates rubbing and discomfort for women with bunions, while flattering the look of the foot. Fidelio sandals are reasonably priced at $180.

Joya Shoes Arriving Friday!

Imagine a shoe that is so soft and light that your feet don't feel like they are touching the ground. A shoe that produces an instant feeling of delight and makes every step a joyful experience. A shoe that makes you want to walk for the pure enjoyment of walking. Joya - the Swiss wonder shoe, will be arriving Friday, and they are like no other shoe you've worn before. Try a pair of Joya shoes today, and discover the feeling that hundreds of thousands of Europeans are experiencing every day. Wearing Joya is not only fun, it's addicting. There's no learning curve - just start walking, and the smile on your face will come naturally.

Europeans love to walk. It's very much part of their culture, and they place a premium on comfortable footwear to make walking a fun and enjoyable experience. Whether it's long hours of standing or walking for exercise and health, Joya will protect your body and make walking a joyful and very pleasant experience.

A few weeks ago, newlyweds Mark and Melinda stopped in to get some comfy shoes for their honeymoon trip to Europe. Melinda tried on a test pair of Joya shoes and absolutely fell in love with them. She was disappointed that she couldn't buy a pair, since the shoes hadn't arrived yet. Their first stop was Munich, Germany and we showed them where they could buy Joya shoes in Munich. They stopped into  Hartlmaier Shoes and tried on several pairs of Joya shoes.

Mark and Melinda came back to our store yesterday to show off the Joya shoes they bought in Munich. They had several all-day walking tours through Munich, Vienna and Prague. They walked on grass, trails, cobblestones and pavement and their Joya shoes allowed them to walk all day with no pain, fatigue or discomfort. They both agreed to share their experience wearing Joya shoes on their honeymoon trip through Europe.

Reader Response to Chewing Your Food for Weight Loss
By Celia Tellez

Last week, we published an article on chewing each bite of food 30-50 times before swallowing. This has become one of the easiest new habits for Cam and myself. Instead of eating on the run, we stop and enjoy each bite for 30-50 chews. Food tastes better, and we get fuller much faster. No "bloated" feeling and an overall sense of dining satisfaction.

Donna Bell replied to our newsletter with more helpful ideas on this subject, along with an interesting recipe for baked kale chips. Here is Donna's advice:

When having a salad, always have the dressing "on the side".    Dip your fork into the dressing first, before loading your fork with small bite of salad.   Chew, chew, chew and enjoy. You get little taste of the dressing, but a much smaller portion than you would if you dipped each bite into the dressing.   The flavor of the "veggies" isn't smothered by the dressing. We tried this snack yesterday and really enjoyed it.  The recipe is on the internet.

Baked Kale Chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. One bunch of kale - remove ruffled leaf from the stalk, wash, dry and tear leaves into bite size pieces.  (A salad spinner is helpful.) Put into a bowl, add about 1 tablespoon olive oil and sprinkle with a small amount of sea salt, or seasoned salt and mix lightly by hand. Spread seasoned kale onto a non-insulated cookie sheet lined with parchment paper, or foil and bake 10 - 15 minutes until the edges are a little brown, but not burned.

Until next time,

Live, Love, Laugh and Enjoy Life on Your Feet!
