Foot Pain Testimonials

I came to Total Relief Footwear after several people told me how much it had helped them. I have arthritis in my knees, and had been having problems with plantar fasciitis for 9 months. Orthotics had given me some relief, but standing for any length of time on a hard surface caused so much pain in my heel and lower back, that it was really affecting my ability to participate in activities that were important to me - like walking for exercise. I was having problems controlling my weight because I couldn't walk without pain. I bought my 1st pair of Z-CoiL shoes in the fall of 2005, and now have 3 pairs! I limped on crutches into Total Relief Footwear three months ago, hoping that these shoes would be a solution to my foot pain. I have had six foot surgeries since 1992 including reconstructive surgery. Rehabilitation following these surgeries was extremely painful. I stopped running, and then walking became painful. Even at work, pain caused a lot of downtime. Within the past 3 years, I have seen some progress thanks to Dr. J. Brannan Smoot of Texas Orthopedics, but rehab has still been painful.

I purchased my first pair of Z-CoiL shoes within the last 30 days. I am extremely happy to say they were the best investment I have made in years. I was diagnosed with Lupus (with Rheumatory Arthritis) about 8 years ago. Since that time, the pain in my feet has often been unbearable. I usually have to stay off them for 24-48 hours as well as take pain medication. About two years ago I started having severe pain in the heal of my left foot. It was a constant sharp pain, like standing on a rock all day. Being a hairstylist, and on my feet constantly, I can tell you it was horrible. Each step agony. Then a co-worker told me about Z-CoiLs. My wife and I visited Total Relief Footwear in November of this year. My wife is an RN at a hospital and needless to say she is on her feet 11 to 12 hours at a time. At night when she would come home her feet and legs would be sore from standing and walking all day.

One day, a co-worker came to work wearing a pair of Z-CoiL footwear. Hearing how the Z-CoiLs make her feet feel after a hard day convinced my wife to visit Total Relief Footwear.

Being her husband and also one of the many that suffer chronic back and leg pain not to mention RLS (Restless Leg Syndrome), I decided to visit Total Relief Footwear also.

When we first walked into the store I could see that the people that worked there believed whole heartedly in Z-CoiLs and their benefits. Every salesperson had on a pair of Z-CoiL shoes.

After hearing the brief and no pressure sales information about Z-CoiL history and possible benefits of wearing Z-CoiLs, my wife and I decided to buy two pairs. Tennis shoes for her and steel toe work boots for me. I manage the maintenance of an 80,000 sq.ft. building, so I gave my boots a good work out.

When I first put my boots on, I knew there would be no breaking in period. It felt like I was wearing slippers instead of boots. The very first day after wearing my Z-CoiL boots, my leg didnt bother me as much and my back pain didnt seem so intense. After about two weeks even my RLS didnt seem as bad.

If my wife or myself felt the Z-CoiLs werent feeling just right, all we had to do was stop in the store for a free adjustment.

When I walked into your store for the first time, my whole body ached. My feet hurt so bad I had to use aspercream and 4 aspirin just to start the day. My feet hurt, my ankles hurt, my knees popped and hurt. My back was constantly out and my neck was out. I also walked slower than before and I was all hunched over. When I left the store in my new shoes, I was standing straight, walking faster, and all the pain was gone except a tiny twinge in my right hip. That disappeared by the next day. The job that I do on Tuesday morning was done in half the time. Everyone was amazed at the difference in me. I feel great! I think Z-CoiL shoes are an investment. Whether it is framing a painting or looking for parts for my classic car, I dont get tired as long as I wear my Z-CoiLs. My business requires that I spend most of my day standing and a lot of time running around getting and looking for supplies. That means being on my feet all day but with my Z-CoiLs its OK. My feet dont hurt like they do if I wear other shoes and the sharp pain in my heel goes away with the support that the Z-CoiLs provide.

I bought my shoes a little over a year ago. Since then, I can live life again. Before my shoes, I was going to quit the job that I loved. My feet hurt everyday. I stand on my feet 5 days a week, average 36 hours with one 15 minute break a day. My feet hurt so bad that I went home and sat and soaked them. I didnt do anything on the weekend because my feet hurt so bad. BUT now, after my Z-CoiLs, I walk 5 miles when I get off work. I clean my house and go places again. My job at the post office requires a lot of standing for long periods of time in an 8 to 10 hour work day. I first experienced plantar fascia in 1996. My podiatrist suggested Nikes DMX because of their thick sole and spring in the heel. I received very little to no relief for my heel pain. Other shoes I have purchased and worn are Birkenstock, Clarks, Easy Spirit, Hush Puppies, Naturalizers, Reebox, Rockport, Soft Spots, SAS and many others. These shoes simply did not give me the relief from pain. Some of the times my pain increased from wearing these shoes.

Hello I am writing to tell you of my experience with Z CoiLs. After many years of not working on my feet, I decided to get back into the food service industry. I am older now, over 50, and considerably overweight. I knew I would need good shoes. I tried New Balance, which were comfortable enough while I was at work, but I developed knee and back pain. The New Balance shoes did not have skid resistant soles so I slipped around a bit at work which is scary at my age. I tried a few other brands with the same outcome.

One of my customers heard me complain about my feet hurting and asked why I didnt try the Z CoiLs. I went home and researched them on the internet and couldnt find any thing bad written about them, so I decided to try a pair. I went to the Total Relief Footwear store where I met the owner, Cam White. I already knew I wanted to try them so he didnt have to sell me on them. He still spent over an hour fitting them to the way I walk and explaining to me what to expect and so on. I wore them to work the next day and didnt even have to break them in. After wearing them for about a week my knee and back pain were gone. I used to come home from work and sit in the recliner all evening, now I felt like doing things after work. Unfortunately, they did not have the skid resistant soles and I began slipping at work. I put them up and got a pair of Shoes for Crews, which were comfortable and non-skid, but the knee pain came back. I was just going to retire the Z CoiLs and hope that I could use them elsewhere, when I decided to email Cam and see if there was anything he could do for me. I so wanted to wear them for work!

Cams wife, Celia, corresponded with me and told me to hang in there, she was working on something. Its been about a week now and the knee pain is gone and my energy is coming back. I purchased my first pair of Z-CoiL shoes in Albuquerque about 10 years ago. I had foot problems that made it difficult to walk any distance without pain in my feet and lower back. I've been on the website and read some of the letters that people have written about their experience with Z-CoiLs, and I'm sure that I can't top some of those.

However, I had some lower back pain for many years, (sometimes less and sometimes more), and my last pair of 'big name' shoes had a serious flaw that had my right foot in a lot of pain for months before finding Total Relief Footwear and Z-CoiLs.

I'm a VERY active guy and have to be standing and moving on concrete all day every day and can't really afford any down-time; so it's imperative to my lively hood that I remain that way.

The back pain was gone in two days, the foot pain took about a week to heal, and neither have ever returned. So I suppose I can honestly say that the Z-CoiLs did change my life too, as others have attested. I have felt so much better, and even younger, that I purchased a new bicycle and have ridden over 1,200 miles on it since July.

Being somewhat style conscious, I was a little nervous about the prospects of wearing a pair of shoes that I thought might make me look like I was wearing high heels. I bought my Z-CoiLs a few months back. At first I was a little skeptical. But, I went ahead and "sprung" for them, thinking what do I have to lose?. I was offered a money back guarantee within 7 days if I was not happy. Well, the first night I went home with them I wore them out to a popular kids pizza place with my son. I got used to them very quickly and the next morning I woke up virtually leg-pain free.

I needed the shoes because I was diagnosed with heel spurs and it simply hurt to do anything. Having leg pain after sitting for just a few minutes and getting up, I would have to limp to comfort. Also, every morning when I would wake up I would have to lie in bed a few minutes and rotate my feet and ankles just to be able to put my feet on the floor.

Fourteen years of standing on my feet working at my art gallery has taken a toll on my feet. The pain was excruciating. My testimony is something that is heard almost everyday I work. I am a hair stylist in Austin, Texas and am on my feet for long hours at least five times a week. I got severe plantar fasciitis in my right foot almost two years ago and was so desperate for pain relief because it meant I may have to give up my job. I started out at my doctors and she lead me to a Podiatrist. I had injections, medications and even paid over $280.00 for orthotics. Nothing was helping, just lightly taking some pain away. My boss told me to try acupuncture, and even though I was terrified of needles, I was ready for anything. My first visit there I noticed the therapist had the weirdest looking shoes on and I commented on them. She told me why she needed them since she was always on her feet and had knee problems and leg pain at times, and it took it all away. She was so kind and just happened to be my size and she allowed me to try them on, they instantly took the shooting pain I had away. She gave me all the information and web site and I was at Total Relief Footwear the next day. The couple that run it are Cam White and Celia Tellez. The minute I walked in they treated me like family. They fitted me and spent so much time with me, I walked out with my first pair of Z-CoiLs. The first week I needed to wear them the instant I woke up until the time I went to bed because my plantar fasciitis would hurt so bad if I took them off. My kids would laugh at me because I would have my nightgown on with my sneakers as well, but I could not have cared less, the pain was gone after a year of searching for relief. I would like to say that after I bought my Z-coiL work boots with steel toes I could not believe the difference that they made in my life.

I work 8 to 12 hours a day and most of that time is on my feet moving and loading railcars and bulk trucks. By the end of the day I would hurt so bad that I could not walk. Before Z-CoiLs, the work boots that I was wearing I had special orthotics because of heel spurs and my ankles rolling in but by the end of the day I would go home and have to soak my feet. I went in to the Austin store and purchased a pair of work boots. Let me tell you one thing - I felt like I bought new feet! I can work all day and come home and not have to soak my feet. I tell all of the guys that I work with that they need to get a pair because they would not believe the difference that it will make in their life and work. One thing is for certain, I will be purchasing more Z-CoiLs in the near future.

Late last spring I came into Total Relief Footwear on crutches. Exited on z-coils. Within three days the excruciating pain in my foot (torn plantar) eased dramatically. The foot healed because the shoes gave it reprieve to do so. These shoes have made everything I do easier: vacationing in Gatlinburg (walking and standing all day on concrete), walking from where I park at UT to my office everyday (uphill and hundreds of steps), using walk-behind shredder at the ranch, sitting in the car for long trips (cushioning of the coil under the heel helps reduce strain)...I tackle tasks which require extended time on my feet with far less apprehension. They have improved my posture and my balance. They keep me from stumbling over uneven ground. A couple of weeks ago I judged a horseshow and thought it would look too strange if I wore my z-coils. So I wore my cowboy boots. Was I ever sorry! My feet were absolutely killing me hours before I finished. I'd actually forgotten how it felt to wear regular soles. Next time I don't care what my z-coils look like, I'm wearing them! I wear them to church, to work, for chores...I have found that you can do almost anything you need to in them; even ride if you have Spanish style stirrups!

My husband also has a pair that he relies on and we bought my Mom a pair. She hadn't been able to walk for exercise in years due to both foot and back issues. She loves them; they've given her mobility she'd lost long ago.

I have adult onset of Diabetes Mellitus. Thus, my feet hurt all the time. I also have some intermittent hip and back pain as I am 66 years old. I have searched the "world over" for some shoes that I can walk and stand in, drive a vehicle in etc. and not have my feet hurt. I have a closet full of shoes that were "supposed to cure all my problems." NONE HELPED!!!

Then I came across the Z-CoiL shoe in Austin, Texas. Actually the ladies in Hancock Fabrics recommended them highly to me as we were chatting while checking out of the store.

I went to the Z-CoiL store - I looked at the shoes - they took about an hour with me. They infomed me the shoes were designed to "fit the person's foot, not like other shoes where the foot had to fit the shoe." They worked with me, walked with me, adjusted the shoe inside and out - and I made the purchase - at a very fair and I think reasonable price. I wore them out of the store (like I have done so many many times before with other shoes). I thought after about an hour: "hmm - I sort of LIKE THESE SHOES."

And now to my testimony.

I was just post laproscopic Gall Bladder surgery when I purchased the shoes. I was told to walk for my health. However, my feet hurt so much I could not walk. I was to leave on a trip to London, England - then a cruise to Norway and the Arctic Circle getting real near the North Pole, then back to London and return to the USA. Could I make it? Would my feet let me?

Wore the Z-CoiL home - then went for a walk on the neighborhood streets. My feet felt like I was walking on a thick pad of grass or thick carpet - I could actually walk about a mile with NO DISCOMFORT. Totally steady in my gait. WOW!
Drove our car and pick up - felt great driving. WOW!
Drove from Georgetown, TX to Norman, OK to meet friends.
Took a private limo to the airport with friends - worked great.
Went thru security at the airport - shoes off of course - they quizzed me but no problems.
Felt great in the airplane to Dallas.
Walked all over the DFW terminal - and I mean walked!
Boarded the American Airlines 777 Jumbo Jet for London, England - the flight was great with my Z-CoiLs on all the way - 10 long hours.
Long walk in Gatwick Airport in London, stairs, escalators, etc. - went fine.
Bus ride 2.5 hours Gatwick Airport to the Cruise Ship Sea Princess and boarded with my Z-CoiLs. Ship security had never seen these before - they set off the security alarm - but all was fine after frisking me.
Wore my Z-CoiLs everyday we were on board ship, all over the ship, up and down stairs, on deck, you name it.
Wore my Z-CoiLs to ALL shore excursions, often on tenders from the ship to the shore - no problem!
Wore my Z-CoiLs ALL OVER NORWAY - up hill, down hill, up and down wet grass, up and down on loose shale and gravel, uneven ground, sidewalks, up mountains, down mountains, on snow, rain, sleet, you name it - NO PROBLEMS - never felt unsteady ONCE, NEVER SLIPPED.
Came to within 625 miles of the North Pole, way above the Arctic Circle, could not go any further - ice flow heavy - my Z-CoiLs worked great.
I only wore my Cole Hahn Air Heel Shoes 3 times - that being tux formal night in the ship dining room. Otherwise, never ever took my Z-CoiLs off (yes of course to sleep I took them off silly).
Back to London, England. Wow, did I walk, and walk sightseeing. On bus, on train, in taxi, in restaurants, to Hampton Court, to the British Museum - all over - felt great!
Any complaint's about my Z-CoiLs? None, except the supplied shoe laces are way too long. We can fix that easily...

Conclusions:

I will purchase another pair for business use, another for pleasure use.
My wife will purchase a pair for her use. She has knee, hip, and back pain.
My feet do not hurt anymore - however I cannot walk in anything other than my Z-CoiLs and be at all comfortable.
My knee, hip and back pain are gone since walking in my Z-CoiLs.
I have told EVERYONE on our trip and locally about my Z-CoiLs.
I sincerely believe EVERYONE ON THIS PLANET EARTH should be walking in a Z-CoiL shoe of some variety!!

I love the Z-Duty work boots that I bought from Total Relief Footwear during a recent trip to Austin. My wife and I live in Hudson, Wisconsin where temperatures get very cold in the winter.

Every morning, I walk through the woods with my 104 pound Golden Retriever, Buddie. We walk up and down hills regardless of terrain, snow depths or temperatures. The boots are great for walking on uneven surfaces and they keep my feet warm even in temperatures as low as -20F. Its a great feeling to be active with far less heel and foot pain. For six years I have been suffering from extreme pain associated with heel spurs and plantar fasciitis. I tried cortisone shots, anti-inflammatory drugs and stretching exercises to relieve my pain, but nothing worked. My chiropractor recommended that I visit Total Relief Footwear and try on a pair of Z-CoiLs.

I consider myself to be a hard-sell or a salesmans nightmare. I am very skeptical by nature and I almost never buy anything on impulse. I walked into Total Relief Footwear and made Vince, the store manager convince me about the benefits of the footwear. After explaining the design of the shoes, Vince brought me a pair of the High Desert Hikers to try on. To my amazement, the pain in my heels disappeared, and I was in a lot of pain before I walked into the store. I have no pain when I wear my Z-CoiLs and I have noticed that my plantar fasciitis pain is diminishing rapidly when Im not wearing the shoes. It was a Saturday afternoon when I limped into Total Relief Footwear. I could not imagine that I was going to have the ability to hike with our students that we were taking to Big Bend the very next day. My feet hurt everywhere and we were going to be hiking every day for a week. I expected that I might be able to "tough it out" on the shorter hikes, but for the longer ones, I'd be sitting in camp. A friend had recommended Z-CoiLs, and although I was a skeptic, I was desperate.

A single mom with three kiddos and on a tight budget, I couldn't believe I was spending more than $30 on a pair of shoes for myself! But, again, I was desperate and my foot pain was beginning to affect not only my job (I work in a clinic and have to be on my feet a lot) but my time with my kids as well. I'd come home from work and flop down on the couch because my feet were killing me. Many nights my oldest son would make dinner and bring it to me because I just couldn't spend any more time on my feet. It's amazing how just about every aspect of your life is negatively affected if your feet are hurting. To compound the problem, I didn't have medical insurance, and really couldn't afford the cortisone injections that had been suggested. I recently took a job in Killeen, TX doing the kind of work that is murder on anyones feet, back and joints - even the young and the young at heart. The type of work I am required to do is completely physical and demanding, something I had not done in years, but still I needed the job. My job is repairing armored vehicles that return from Iraq. The vehicles are placed in a motor pool the size of two football fields. In order to do my job, I have to walk the area several times during the day, and to make matters worse, I must wear steel toe boots. Each and everyday my feet were killing me. So every Saturday I would get a foot massage to soothe the pain.

That was until I saw a lady in the Ft. Hood library wearing the strangest pair of shoes I had ever seen. I asked her about them and she was more than happy to share her good fortune. Ankle, Knee, & Hip Pain

My name is Yvonne Graham, Owner of TFN Nutrition in Northwest Austin, Texas. I am a former World-Class middle distance runner. During the height of my athletic career, I was the 2nd fastest woman in the world in the 1500m and third fastest in the 3000m distance. I was on the national teams for Germany and Jamaica between 1988 and 1996. I still hold the Jamaican national record for 1500m, 3000m and 5000m distances.

Eight years ago, I suffered a career-ending rupture of my right Achilles tendon. It took three surgeries to successfully re-attach the tendon, but the nature of the injury was too severe to allow me to continue my running career. It was difficult for my right leg to support my body weight. The injury also forced my right ankle to over-pronate.

I was introduced to Z-CoiL shoes at Total Relief Footwear in January, 2004. I immediately discovered that I could equally distribute my weight on both legs, and I could feel my calf muscle working in my right leg. Shortly thereafter, I began jogging and running again. In the past month, I have completed seven runs up to 5 miles in distance. The shoes were adjusted to correct the over-pronation in my injured leg. Z coils have given me back a pain-free life! Due to a cracked pelvis in 1997, my hip has continually hurt more each year since then. The first half of 2005 I was taking max doses of ibuprofen daily to get thru the day. The pain was so bad at night I could not sleep. In June my husband came home at noon telling me about these wonderful shoes. We looked them up on the internet and after reading about them we decided they were worth trying. We were in Austin, Texas the 1st of July heading to Bastrop, Texas where we were to help run a Rotary International Youth Leadership Camp (RYLA) and we stopped at Total Relief Footwear to get my husband a pair of Z-CoiLs. I have debilitating arthritis in my feet, ankles, knees, hips and other joints (I also have bunions and bone spurs). I typically work on my feet from about 6:00 AM until 8:00 PM or later. Until I bought my Z-CoiLs, I had great difficulty sleeping at night due to the pain, even with my arthritis medication. Since I began wearing my Z-CoiLs every day, I can sleep through the night. I wake up rested, and do not have to take a "pain break" during the day. We've bought 4 pair (my sister has 3 pair and can wear different styles) and have had our Z-CoiLs for about 3 years now.

I show dogs for a living - a physically demanding, on your feet job. I wear my Z-CoiLs up until I go into the ring, then change into dressier shoes for the time I'm in the ring, and immediately change back into my Z-CoiLs until I go back in the ring again. My Christmas Wish is that Z-CoiL will make a dressier shoe for women and a shoe that allows for a higher instep due to arthritic changes! Its a great feeling to get around with far less pain. For 20 years, my hip and leg pain seriously impaired my ability to walk. I couldnt walk a block without experiencing sharp pain in my low back a condition later diagnosed as sacroiliac (SI) joint dysfunction. I was also very concerned about maintaining cardiovascular health, but my pain was too severe for me to take a good walk.

I bought a pair of Cloudwalkers a week before a trip to Mexico, hoping that Z-CoiLs would help get around the six ports of call we planned to visit. I played football for 18 years and had my knees operated on 3 times during my career. I was on the 1957 Rice Owls Southwestern Conference Championship team and the Philadelphia Eagles 1960 World Championship team. Back Pain

I just purchased my 10th pair of Z-CoiL shoes. They are the best investment I have ever made in pain relief.

Before wearing Z-CoiL footwear, my foot pain was so bad that I hobbled doing simple chores, like going to the store. I also suffered from back pain from 4 compressed disks in my low back. The thought of surgery scared me too much, but I was considering it before I read an article about Z-CoiLs in a magazine. I work at Sams warehouse as a demo person, so my shoes are very important as I stand on a concrete floor all day. I always had pain in my back, legs, and feet. I am a 75 year old woman and have had three spinal fractures and five stress fractures four in the right foot and one in the left foot due to osteoporosis. Then came the heel spurs in both feet, which made walking extremely painful. I could not find any shoes that gave the relief I needed. This year the vertebrae in my neck began to collapse and they all had to be replaced with metal pieces and screws to hold them in place. In October I was told the only exercise I could do was walking.

My name is Lorrie Lee and I purchased a pair of Z-CoiL shoes last year at Total Relief Footwear in Austin, Texas. The associates at Total Relief Footwear were very helpful and well-informed of their products.

I am a single mother of two teenage girls and have been making a living working for the local Wal-Mart store in our town (Lampasas, Texas). As a cashier, I am on my feet for 8 hours a day and before I purchased my Z-CoiL shoes, my lower back and feet were absolutely killing me by the end of each work day. I looked forward to my days off so that I could rest my feet and relieve some of the tension in my lower back. My back would hurt so bad at the end of each work day that I could not even bend over without a lot of pain. Standing back up was even worse. My heels would hurt so badly that when I got home from work and put my feet up (or sat down for any extended period of time) my feet would swell up and it would hurt to even walk through the house to do my chores. My legs were also in pain, especially my calves and knees.

Hi, my name is Stephanie Michalski, and I have been wearing Z-CoiLs for about 6 months. Working in the retail business, I was constantly on my feet. I was in 2 car accidents this past year, and have incurred a series of debilitating injuries from them. In very rough seas aboard a Navy ship, I was thrown into a hatch, resulting in a cracked vertebra and several ruptured disks. I also broke my ankle and fractured my knee. I spent three years in the hospital enduring several surgeries and ongoing rehabilitation. Since my injury, pain has been part of my daily life. At the beginning of the work week my pain is manageable, but my condition deteriorates with each passing day. By Friday, I am normally a wreck.

My wife discovered Z-CoiLs watching an advertisement on TV and did some research about Z-CoiLs on the internet. I was extremely skeptical, thinking these shoes were just another snake oil remedy promising pain relief, only to fall short of their claims. As an artist, I spend many hours painting and exhibiting at shows across the country. After long painting sessions I had to lie on the floor to relieve the pain in my back. For the past several years, I have been suffering from back pain due to degenerative discs and bone spurs. For almost three years, I have been suffering from severe pain caused by degenerating disks in my low back. When I stand more than 15 minutes, I get a hot, sharp pain that shoots into my right foot. I also experience numbness in my toes and in the ball of my right foot. My doctor has advised me to avoid standing for prolonged periods of time.
